Over the years, India Gate has become one of the most popular Tourist and Picnic Spots in Delhi along with being a symbol of national history and heritage.
The India Gate, originally the All India War Memorial, is a war memorial located astride the Rajpath, on the eastern edge of the “ceremonial axis” of New Delhi. It stands as a memorial to 70,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who died in the First World War.
It has become so popular that despite the extreme weather of Delhi, it is always thronging with people any time of the day.
Most people visit it during the day but its worth a visit even at night. Apart from taking a walk a t India Gate, the place has many activities and food stalls lined up.
There are toys and mini car rides for kids and snack stalls for adults. Most people go for a drive around India Gate at night for icecream.
My favourite reason for going to India Gate is Chuski aka Barf ka gola. Shikhara Lovely chuski serves the best Kala khatta chuski in Delhi. The small stall is set up every evening at India Gate compound on Man Singh Road and is always full of people.
And the place looks mesmerising at night, minus the barricades of course.
So what are you waiting for. Get up and go to India Gate tonight for lovely chuski and some nice selfies. You will love it. And this is perfect weather to visit this national heritage.
